SUMMARY:Cowan Lake Paddlesport Race
DESCRIPTION:Friends Caring for Cowan Lake State Park Annual Lake Paddlesport Race\nThe race is a 3 or 6-mile canoe/kayak/SUP race on beautiful Cowan Lake. Race day registration starts at 8 AM\, racer meeting at 9:30 AM\, race starts at 10 AM with awards after. This race is a great race for the first time racer as well as the seasoned veteran with flat deep water.  Race day registration is just $20 per participant. Free camping available on Saturday night at the swimming beach (contact race director for info).PFD is required to be worn for all racers during the race. SUMMARY:Scioto Canoe and Kayak Race
DESCRIPTION:The event will feature numerous 6-mile marathon canoe and kayak races. The marathon event will be held on O’Shaughnessy Reservoir.  \nRegistration at O’Shaughnessy Boating Center 1:00 p.m. Registration Opens 1:30 p.m. First Race To Start \nMarathon Race Events C-2 Men/Women Cruiser K-1 Downriver/Touring/Sea Kayak (M/W) C-2 Men/Women Standard C-1 Man/Woman Cruiser (18-39) C-1 Man/Women Master Cruiser (40+) C-2 Novice Standard \nNote: If you don’t see your “race class” above come and bring your boat anyway. We’ll tailor a class and distance to match your skills. \nRACES: The marathon 6-mile course will be available at O’Shaughnessy Boating Center north of Columbus Zoo entrance. \nCANOE RACE REGISTRATION: Day of Race Only. Registration will be at O’Shaughnessy Boating Center. \nDIRECTIONS: O’Shaughnessy Boating Center is located northwest of Columbus\, Ohio off State Route 257 (Riverside Drive). Take I-270 to State Route 161 and US 33. Go east through the city of Dublin to SR 257 (about a mile). Go north past Scioto Park (west side of the road). The Boating Center is reached by continuing north on US 33 from Scioto Park. At the dam\, continue north toward the zoo. Boating Center is on left opposite the zoo area. There will be signs. \nENTRY FEES: NONE: USCA Marathon 6 mile Events – Free \nAWARDS: Ceremony to be held at approximately 3:00 p.m. at O’Shaughnessy Boating Center after the completion of all races. \nRACE RULES: United States Canoe Association Rules will prevail.
