SUMMARY:Ohio State Canoe\, Kayak and Paddleboard Championship
DESCRIPTION:You are invited to participate in the Ohio State Canoe\, Kayak\, and Paddleboard Championships being held on the Grand River at Lake Metroparks. \n \nCourse description: This is an up/downriver race with buoy turns. Mostly flat deep water\, some slow-moving shallows. There are plenty of viewing opportunities for spectators. Race officials reserve the right to alter the course if deemed necessary. The race starts and ends at the same location. The Ohio Dept. of Natural resources Div. of Watercraft and the Lake County Sheriff’s Dept. will monitor boat traffic and assure a safe race course.  \nThere are 2 races. The 5-mile race begins at 9am and will include C-1\, C2\, SUP\, K-1\, K-2\, and recreational & pleasure canoes. The second race begins at 11:30am and includes the competitive class racers paddling C-2\, K-1 and K-2. Please see the 2021 Race Flyer below for details. USCA Rules apply.  \nRegistration information :Registration information: Opens at8:00 am. $30/person for one race\, $35 for both races. T-shirt to all entrants (one shirt per entrant). There is a mandatory pre-race meeting 15 minutes before each scheduled group of races. All competitors must pick up boat numbers at registration prior to the race \nBoat inspection:Boats for all classes must conform to USCA specification rules. All boats will be inspected on the day of the race. The decision of the race officials as to conformance of any boat or equipment proposed for entry will be final. We’ll tailor a class and distance to match your skills. \nRACES: The marathon 6-mile course will be available at O’Shaughnessy Boating Center north of Columbus Zoo entrance. \nCANOE RACE REGISTRATION: Day of Race Only. Registration will be at O’Shaughnessy Boating Center. \nDIRECTIONS: O’Shaughnessy Boating Center is located northwest of Columbus\, Ohio off State Route 257 (Riverside Drive). DESCRIPTION:Bring your SUP\, kayak\, canoe\, tandem\, or prone and join The Explore Kentucky Initiative and Stand Up Paddle Cincinnati for the biggest event in the Kentucky Waterman Series at the Ohio River Paddlefest. SUMMARY:Coolville-Frost Canoe & Kayak Race
DESCRIPTION:8.3 miles canoe\, kayak\, and SUP race on the lower Hocking River. \nIt starts just upstream of Coolville\, OH\, immediately upstream of the US Route 50 (also shown as state route 7) bridge across the Hocking River from the ODNR Coolville boat ramp. The boat ramp is the start and staging area for the race. The Gomart on Route 56 is 0.80 miles west of the boat ramp. The Gomart address is 25780 Brimstone Rd\, Coolville\, OH. The race is about 8 miles and will go about 4 miles upstream with a turn at the first bridge encountered (Frost\, OH). \nRegistration starts a 9:00.\nFee $30. SUMMARY:Black Fork River Canoe & Kayak Race
DESCRIPTION:Canoe\, Kayak\, and Standup Paddleboard owners this is the perfect opportunity for both veterans and newcomers alike to get out and enjoy the beautiful waters of Charles Mill Lake. The Black Fork River Canoe & Kayak Race will be held on Saturday\, June 26th with the start line at the boat ramp at 1272 SR 430 in Mifflin. \nThere will be a six-mile loop race as well as a three-mile novice race for beginners. There will be classes for men\, women\, and mixed teams. Awards will be presented to the top three finishers in each class. All types of canoes\, kayaks\, and SUPs are welcome. Recreational paddlers who don’t race regularly will easily be able to complete the three-mile race\, while hardcore racers will enjoy the challenge of the six-mile course. \nThe entry fee is $20 per person. Registration starts at 8 AM with a mandatory pre-race meeting at 9:30 and the race beginning at 10:00. The fee includes a T-Shirt for all paddlers.
